We have read about Teddy and Mrs.Smith's case. Comment on the following questions about your understanding from the case and what are your views on these below questions-
Discuss in points.
1.What discussion could have taken place between the principal and Mrs.Smith regarding teddy's performance?
2. What would be the scenario of teddy's performance after principal's intervention?
1) Teddy was weak in all over activities which lead to bad performance. The principal ma’am and teacher may have taken a right decision to see the weak point of teddy where he needs improvement supporting more in polite instead of just giving remarks for improving his performance.
ReplyDelete2) After principal intervention teddy performance may improve and may lead to success. Teddy would get improvement in his all over performance due to the help of the teacher where the remarks were not working. Teacher may try her best to improve the performance of teddy may lead to encouragement and motivate him to learn successfully.
In this case where ma’am was annoying his mistakes and just giving him remarks for bad performance
ReplyDeleteYes i agree ignoring teddy's mistakes and not making efforts to help him.improve in his difficult areas leads him to not perform well in his studies
Delete1.May the principal asked the region why the Teddy's performance not up-to the mark.
ReplyDeleteThey may give some ideas who Mrs.
Smita can increase taddy acddamic performance.
2.according to me it may increase because principal and Mrs. Smith both give more attention towards taddy performance
1. I think after principal looking at teddy's progress card and the Negitive remarks on that card by Mrs.Smith, principal mam must be worried about teddy's academic progress and so she thought to have a meeting with Mrs.Smith.
ReplyDeletePrincipal mam must have had discussion with Mrs.smith about why teddy is not able to progress and what difficulty is he facing. Also in discussions principal must have asked Mrs.smith what follow up she made to help out teddy to improve in his performance.
2. After the intervention of Principal, I think Mrs.Smith would have taken efforts to interact with teddy to know where is he facing difficulty, to know his weaknesses and strengths better, because i believe if a teacher identifies their student's strengths , she can help them to improve in his performance using their strengths. Mrs.Smith would have also started with giving him appreciation notes or appreciation comments in his note book which would encourage teddy to do better in his studies.
A teacher is probably the most important person in everyone's life.
ReplyDeleteA teacher guides a child, take them under the protection of their wings and even teaches them to fly.
A teacher's job is very important because each and every child is their responsibility.
Their job is to teach a kid to fly not to label them flightless if a child is unable to fly.
Ans 1-in case of teddy instead of investigating in his case Mrs Smith just labelled his performance as very bad.
Upon seeing this the principal was alarmed and he knowing the above mentioned responsibilities of a teacher would have shared the same with Mrs Smith, and he would have asked her to investigate in teddy's case and know the reason behind his poor performance.
Ans 2-After principal's intervention Mrs Smith would have recognised her mistake, and she would have decided to help teddy search for his problem and find it's solution.
Thus after principal's intervention teddy's performance would definitely have improved.
1) After going through teddy's performance the principal might be worried about his performance and growth as an individual. The principal might have questioned Mrs Smith as to why she thinks a student of hers is performing so poorly overall. She might ask her to conduct an analysis on teddy so as to create an effective strategy for his overall progress as a student. Also the principal would have advised Mrs Smith to not wrote negative remarks in the comments and instead make use of positive reinforcements
ReplyDeleteTrue.i agree that principal must have asked mrs.smith to monitor teddy's performance and not ignore it
Delete1. The principal and Mrs. Smith have decision taken regarding Teddy's performance that Teddy is very bad in studies so we have to give remark for the best result and and also focus on more curricular and co- curricular activities.if principal give him to remark then may be he is perform in a good way and improve himself. The progress card is also come in a better way.He may be understand all the problems which is faced by thw subjects. In examination, he is pass when we will push him. He is a very sweet boy that the reason we have to decide give remarks to his good progress card.
ReplyDelete2. The scenario of Teddy's performance is after Principal intervention that Teddy is very good and pass by the term exam also. In a better way may have to come grade marksand progress card . He achieve good result and the day by day improvement for Teddy's. The curricular and co-curricular activity also very well. More changes come when the principal intervent to Teddy's life, like a good students. The expectation is more to buid the marks ,performance and activities, etc.
1) In this case teddy was not performing good and he was getting bad remark. After the discussion have taken place between principal and Mrs. Smith regarding teddy's performance was Mrs. Smith need to implement more teaching techniques by using more resources for the better understanding that is using flashcards, audio visual aids, more variety of materials and pictures any activity will improve the performance of teddy.
ReplyDelete2) The scenario of teddy's performance after principal intervention it improve the performance of teddy and he was getting good remarks where Mrs. Smith she worked hard to get to improve teddy performance by using the variety of teaching techniques and this happened to because principal and Mrs Smith has given more attention to taddy.
Yes may be using lot of learning resources suggested by principal, can too help teddy improve in his performance
Delete1- Principal and Mrs.Smith would have discussion about the weakness ,where and what kind of difficulties Teddy is facing. where more effort is needed to improve performance.
ReplyDelete2- After principal"s intervention Mrs. Smith must have idea, how to help Teddy to improve his performance.
Teddy's performance may or may not take a leap towards betterment. This depends on a lot of factors such as his personal efforts and involvement and also that of the teacher.
ReplyDeletePrincipal would have said not to write negative statement on progress card as this will create a bad impact on students mind and this will hamper the learning interest towards the subject.
ReplyDeleteAlso ask about the reason behind Teddy not performing well.
After principals intervention, principal would have suggested how Teddy's performance can be improved. Which could have resulted in building the confidence and interest towards academic performance
1.when the principal of the school saw harsh comments on Teddy's progress card she enquired why Mrs.Smith have written so ,Then Mrs.Smith would explained the principal that Teddy is always lacking in co curricular and curricular activities given in school,She would have also mention through the formative assessment she have done to monitor the progress the of teddy in class .
ReplyDeleteThe principal may also have asked Mrs.Smith what could you do help out his difficulties and progress of Teddy.
2.After principal's intervention,Certain measures may be followed to bring progress in Teddy.
.To have counselling with child.
.If the child is weak in some area, diagnostic evaluation and remedial measures to be adopted.
.Continuous evaluation to ascertain the learner's need, strengths and weakness
.Pleasing words to child so that he would not feel ashamed and could progress and get motivated which can build up child's confidence , self esteem and provide to him a non threatening environment to learn.
Later we noted down the performance of teddy after taking the measures which gave a positive change in him
The discussion that took place between principal and Mrs Smith could be
ReplyDelete1. Principal had asked Mrs Smith the reason behind giving teddy such a negative coment and then Mrs Smith would have explained how she gets annoying with teddy's poor performance.
2. Probably after hearing the reason principal would have taken a great step towards improving teddy's performance and principal might have explained Mrs Smith that she should not have analysed teddy's performance only on the basis of his curriculum and co- curriculm activities. She should give teddy more attention and care so that he can perform good in his next examination.
